I’m Mat, the guide behind Munich Uncovered. I created these private tours for travellers who want more than a quick walk past the famous sights.

My tours are about understanding Munich and Bavaria properly — the history, the architecture, the personalities, the strange details, and the stories that are easy to miss if you don’t know where to look.

I guide privately, so there’s no fixed script and no rushing from one stop to the next. I like tours to feel relaxed, conversational and flexible, with plenty of room for questions and for the day to develop around your interests.

I’m also a licensed Dachau Memorial Site guide, and I take the responsibility of guiding there very seriously. Whether we’re exploring Munich’s Old Town, its darker twentieth-century history, or travelling further into Bavaria, my aim is always the same: to make the experience interesting, thoughtful and memorable.
